When Jesus walked ancient streets
He didn’t call out or draw attention to Himself, but people found Him.
They sought relief from their diverse troubles.
Others came just to hear Jesus speak words that give life.
Today’s streets are just as needy.
Everyday homeless youths come to us for help. Many come just looking for words that give life…
“I’m a total, total (screw up). I’m hopeless,” a young caller said today, after being evicted.
“You’re the only person I can talk to and it took me three hours to get the courage to call you!”
StreetHope was there with words (and actions) of comfort, hope and practicality. We were there because Jesus has entrusted to all of us His love for homeless youths.
We are blessed to serve them both. It makes a difference in young people’s lives. I do hope it does in yours too!
Peace in Him! |
